Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Ah. Based on your time I may be being a little optimistic!

Why don't we all set out together?? Unless my bro has insulted you and you detest him - he has that effect on people.

My estimate was based on 9mm how hard can it be - hence the wondering how hilly 'hilly' is....

9mm is quite tricky on that terrain bruv.

And no-one detests me, I am universally adored. Fact.

The terrain is hilly. First four miles up hill and if you fight it you will be tired when you get to the top. Then it's sort of flat for about 5 miles, three of which are dead flat, then you hav ethe climb from Bakewell to Ball Cross Farm - fecking steep and can be muddy - fell shoes needed here.

After that you have rolling grassy hills to Edensor in Chatswroth into Baslow then a mile steep climb back onto Baslow Edge then undulating until about 2 miles from end where it's a lovely downhill through woods to the end.

Hilly, hard as you make it depends how fast you want to run it.

I did it in 3:25 last year but was tired I think from racing Reading Half 6 days before.

It's a lovely route. Nice soup and cake :-)

DaveA will prob win it srsly :-)

Hendo Bruv, 9min miling is quite a good average for that terrain. The first hill is probably quicker to walk up for most :-) Does that help you to gauge hilliness? :-) The bad ones are up onto Longstone Moor, Ball Cross Woods and Onto Baslow Edge from Baslow. The rest is flat or undulating.

The pace for the course record is 7:20 mm's. I ran at 7:58 average last year. I don't think my pace ever went above 6:30 for a mile.
