We are due to receive our "Individual Arrival Time" via email today... although the road closure info on the race website (https://www.manchestermarathon.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/9/2021/08/Full-Overview-Map-Leaflet-Rev04.pdf) confirms to me that back markers will likely be starting as late as 2pm!

I really don't fancy starting a marathon at about midday (and so I'm glad that I didn't adjust my original very ambitious predicted time to what is now more likely).

I also predict lots of angry local residents when they find out they won't have any vehicle access to/from their homes for up to 12-hours.

I’m not actually planning to run unless the forecast for London is very hot, but…..

….as I’m a ‘faster runner’ in their words I was given 10:30 as an approximate start time. I suppose that means plenty of folks are going to get significantly later start times. I really, really hope it’s not a warm day.

Sorry to hear it's all still a bit crap. Hoping it will be back to normal by next April! A long way away...lots might change.

I’ve got a 10:35 start time - I can live with that. It’s based on predicted finish time of 3:10 to 3:15 (suggested back in 2018 before I deferred) but I’ll be 35 to 40 minutes behind that time.

I've also got a 10:35 start time, based on a 3:30 predicted finish, which is actually what I will be aiming for.

Blimey the marshals are going to get even more abuse than usual! Glad my running club has refused to do it - we had to call the police twice last time.

I've dropped to the Half - I don't fancy being abused for being a slow runner :(

I think it is a shambles. I would never have entered as I had expected to start before 9am. Appreciate these are first world problems. I am actually a resident who will be cut off for a long time - my house if about half way. I think the marathon is great and for one day a year people should suck it up.
