I'm in , promised myself a sub 3,Robert M I booked travelodge Manchester Salford Quays £20 but no parking, which is fine as if I break 3 hours I will be in no state to drive and if I don't break 3 I am not going home till I do

Of course you're right SB, but the long runs won't help with my negotiations with Mrs.Nelly for passes out to do 10ks/HMs :-( As it is, I can currently manage a long run of 15miles in the evening after I've put our youngest to bed, but any longer and I need to take time out from family responsibilites.

DD - it depends what you are looking for? They've changed the course from last year, and if anything it'll be flatter/faster than last year. However, they've also removed the countryside miles, so there won't be much/anything to look at. It will have a fairly large sized field; enough to ensure company throughout the run, but not enough to cause congestion.

Ran this last year and the weather made it a shocker. I am back this year as I have unfinished business with the Manchester marathon

RobertoM - there are a few cheapish hotels around Salford Keys/Old Trafford area, a quick Google should give you the details. Not so sure about B&Bs though.

I'm in again this year, reckon the weather cannot be as bad as last year (crosses fingers & toes).

Currently recovering from injury and just started running again this week after a 3-4 week break so slightly behind on my planned training, but hopefully things will start going to plan and I'll get round the course. The changes to the route seem to be for the good as well.
