I read somewhere that next year, the course will change and actually go through Manchester.

This upsets me greatly as I will no longer be able to criticise it's profound lack of Mancunianity.

It also means that I might enter.

Oh cobblers.

Shucks.

Damn and blast.

SE - there are 3 weeks between this race and Windermere, which is plenty of time to recover. Remember you won't have to do any hard training between races, just a bit of recovery, then a few shorter runs to maintain fitness. Just think of it as training for a single marathon, and then benefitting from your increased fitness levels, by running another marathon a few weeks later.

BVRB - no it's still entirely within Trafford Council's area of control, so criticise away... I thought you were targetting VLM the week before?

The weather can't be that bad again (can it?? :-) )and I'm leaving my baggage in the car this time ;-) Not signed up yet but assuming I don't pick up any injuries in the next couple of months I will sign up around December. What else am I meant to do with sunday mornings from Jan until March :-)

I'm seriously considering having a go at this next year... I know there were aspects of this marathon that were a disaster last year though. If these issues (i.e. baggage, signage, parts of the route) are improved for 2013, does it have the potential to be any good?!?

Little Lou - I ran it last year and thought it was great. The biggest "disaster" last year was the weather, which was a significant contributor to the other issues, and id obviously outside the organisers control. However, they have already announced changes for 2013 to the baggage (a new start location, where the baggage store can be on a hard standing) and the route (avoiding the areas liable to flooding, although IMHO that makes for a much more boring route). I have no idea of any issue regarding signage???
Put it this way, I've been entered within week of entries opening.
