Just been reading through the posts - haven't read my e-mails yet but would be very interested in entering this again and I'm pretty sure they will have the problems sorted out.

If £43 is with a 10% discount that makes the full entry fee near £50 :0

I've entered. Paid £40.30 with the early bird and a 10% discount code thing they emailed to me. Not sure what that was for? Previous entrant maybe.

Oh and I like the sound of the new course despite it being from Old Trafford. Can still walk there from my house!

It seems like I'm the only one that doesn't like the new route!?! I enjoyed the country lanes just as much as the more densely populated supporter areas.

I'm not sure if the route is much flatter sprouty, as it looks like we'll be going over the flyover before (& after Altrincham) thus replacing the only "hill" out of Altrincham, plus we won't have the benefit of the downhill towards Dunham.

Oh, and the route now goes passed my house twice. Given my family couldn't get the car out in time to see me finish and/or pick me up last year, I'm not holding out much hope now the route goes back in the other direction as well!!!

They claim there's 55m of ascent on the new course as opposed to about 70+ this year.

I didn't mind the route last year, it was only the conditions that made the route a bit rough. On a nice day those country lanes will be lovely - I know because I ran a bunch of them in training!

I don't know where they get their ascent figures, but I'm not sure I quite trust them.

I'm sure I saw somebody saying something similar on Facebook ;-) I quite often run along a few of those country lanes throughout the year, and I don't think I've seen worse conditions than on race day... in particular in the 80+ times I've run up/down the narrow country lane down towards Dunham Massey that was ankle deep in water I have never seen it even partially flooded!

does seem a shame nelly that there not keeping that section and thank you for clarifying that the weather was of of biblical proportions :) next year hopefully I'll be in a better frame of mind and will be able to enjoy some fetch like socialising afterwards.
