The change of date to 20 Sept 2009, means the race is now on the same day as the One Day Cricket International between England and Australia at Chester-le-Street in County Durham.

It takes just over an hour to drive in from here. If you can get in somewhere like Haltwistle, Haydon Bridge, Corbridge, Greenhead, or any of the pubs along the Hadrian's Wall, you'll be closer with a straight forward drive into Newcastle.

I've finally ended up with a B&B that was a cheap price for that weekend. Even the durham university accommodation is expensive. cheapest for the weekend i could find was £35-£40 per person per night.
