Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

How much extra effort does it take to try and throw the bottle off the side of the road?

I've always thrown my bottles away, but I make an extra special effort to do that now, after turning my ankle on one at mile 6 last year.

My Garmin had the race as 13.17. I got hit in the face by a flying half-full water bottle, very thoughtfully discarded over someone`s shoulder :-( Certainly one of the stranger running injuries I`ve suffered :-)

I got done with 4miles to go, had been on for a pb and it totally fell apart!
More to the point why cant GNR get the water company to supply them in the pouches like the lucozade sport used to be in?

I threw all my bottles over the top of people and off the racing area....think I may have caused a bystander concussion at one race....

Surely finding a clear line to throw to the side, getting the weight right and avoiding rollback is all part of the run's appeal...
