Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Tiggia: It was me at the front at the start. It wasn't totally intentional. I'd tried to sneak off for a last-minute trip down the hill to the portaloos but had been stopped. This left me right on the front, next to Cracknell. I've met him a few times at races so chatted to him - he said he wasn't in 1:20 shape (not enough run training) but would start at 6mm and see how it went. So I decided to run with him. When we started, I just found myself near the front and thought if I stayed there a while the kids would spot me. You can see me looking to the other carriageway - when I noticed I was ahead of the elites I slowed down a bit. Cracknell caught me at 1 mile and I ran with his little group until about 3 miles when I slipped off the pace.

Nice one RB (the appearance, not that you were feeling bad!)
Apart from a quick scan to see my appearance I haven't watched it yet. I shall start tonight.
