fluzao - your right, parking is a no-no for the GNR but as your hotel is so far out you'd at least be able to drive to a Metro (regional rail system) station which is the best method for getting to the start and away from the finish for this race, failing that a bus in from Alnwick but on a Sunday morning you might struggle. |

Heya folks - thought I'd join you guys as I'm in again this year. RE: traveling in - there's parking at pretty much every one of the Tyne & Wear metro stations, and the metro service is excellent on GNR day. From Sedgefield there's no local trains running early enough to get you to the start on time, and I cant find a local bus service that'll get you there early enough either - there's a big list of local bus services here: nexus.org.uk Nirvana do a shuttle service on gnr day, but I dunno how expensive it is or how you book it - sorry I cant be more helpful |

Thanks Aminita and makkem just rang nirvana they will pick me and wife up for £22.50 each return from Stockton on-tees which is only 8 miles away from Sedfeild . They said they will take me to the start and take my wife to the end as she is not running pick up is at 6.45am , so that's a weight of my mind and someone else will be driving . Thanks again

Hi, I have just applied for a charity place with Cambridge Diet, who I am a counsellor for, raising money for Diabetes UK. If I get a place it'll only be my second ever 1/2, going to do Bristol in September. Mind you coming form the south west I haven't worked out how the bliddy hell I am going to get there!!! |
