Foxy
help yourself to medal off a folding table isn't exactly the celebration of completing "the worlds toughest road marathon"

I agree, the finish area was very feeble and the prizegiving would have benefitted from a bit more enthusiasm from the officials.

Surprised people managed to go wrong though I will concede that the turn just before seven miles without a marshal could have done with more marking than orange arrows painted on the road itself. The near deserted second lap has always been a challenge but was, for me, no worse than having to run the best part of three miles of the (now defunct) Lancaster Castle Marathon last year without seeing a soul

Last time I ran it the finish was in the field directly outside the Stickle Barn which created a much livelier feel to the whole thing - not sure why it's moved?

there was a group that went best part of a mile wrong. There was a marshal on the corner but she was on the phone and didn't seem to know where people should be going. When we came back the sign had been turned round so the arrow was pointing the right way

Nobody mentioned a medal to me; I happened to see someone with one in the car park and asked about them. Then went back to the field and somebody found one in a box somewhere for me. And a plastic shoe.

It was jollier when it was more in the pub.

Sport Sunday have taken some fabulous photos of me on cycling events. That's almost a reason to stick to cycling.

I was either still drunk from all the liquid carbs on Friday or I had wind. I can't believe I was actually smiling ;)
