Shades said it was the 27th so i wasn't going to do it as Chester is the week after and i am pondering a PB improvement there.

As you says its the 20th i could well do the half but the full is too much of a leg killer to recover for Chester alas.

V'Rap, you've done both this and Snowdonia, in time-wise are they nearly equivalent? What I mean is that for the same effort would you achieve similar times on both courses?

I think Snowdonia is a faster course, FR, but that's in the context of me being a weak climber whose pace drops off quite dramatically on steeper hills. There are more sharp inclines at Langdale (you're into something that's as steep as Waunfawr, and probably longer, within a mile of setting off, and you do it twice) and more descents of the sort that will find you out if you're not a secure descender.

Two of my trips to Snowdonia resulted in times just to one side or the other of 4 hours; I think my fastest Langdale was 4:38. On that occasion, I went through half way in under two hours so it was a huge positive split. But I seem to recall that I might have been hirpling a bit with a grumbling ITB.
