Just back from the Gosport "Helpers Half". Wild, wet and windy but 49 of us got round. Fastest was around 1:20 (I was around 1:33) and a few got pb's!! Hope it blows through tonight and you get better conditions tomorrow. Good luck everyone! |

Lol, hell yeah SS! So grateful to you and all the marshalls for being out in that. Was hard work! Where were you based? I looked at a few marshalls and wondered if it was you! I was pleased with my race, 1:33:51 with some very strong miles when slightly sheltered and slow ones directly into the wind. I found the outward stretch of the 2nd lap especially tough (miles 8-10) as I was on my own so no shelter from the relentless gusts! Pleased though overall as consensus from those around me seemed to be that the wind was costing people 2-4 minutes and looking at my heart rate I didn't really race it flat out, just couldn't face battling too hard into the head winds! |
