Good cycle shop near Guildford? Particularly shoes

As I do more riding, I'm finding my feet getting sore as if the sole is flexing/getting stretched. I'm looking for a shop with a reasonable selection of shoes to try before I buy Thanks in advance for the words of wisdom

I actually wandered through Guildford and spotted a shop I hadn't seen before the other day, Fit Stuff, near the High Street. I have no idea if it's any good though, sorry.

There is Cycleworks in Burpham which is a smaller enterprise than Evans etc which might = good?. Not sure if it is a good shop though as I don't really do cycling! When I have needed stuff the big new Evans have been very helpful (eg putting the stabilisers BACK ON my daughter's bike free of charge as I was too inept to do it).
