Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Yep, Great to see Sergio win a major at last. Enjoyed this weeks tournament - Every time you thought someone was on a charge they would get pulled back (usually by the course).

Played my first medal of the year yesterday too. Hit the ball well unfortunately it was rarely in the correct direction.

Rarely watch Golf for any length of time, but that was compelling and had to stay for the finish (bit groggy for my 6am swim this morning....).

Great ebb and flow over the final few holes, and remarkable sportsmanship between the two. Delighted for Sergio, really wondered if he could go again in the play off after the miss on 18th.

I was rooting for Sergio. Don't watch too much golf (or indeed play any of it!) but Sergio has always struck me as a thoroughly nice chap and his win was long overdue.

A mate and I are possibly going to join a club this week. East Berks in Crowthorne. Played an introductory round on Saturday and really liked the course. The joining fee is a bit steep though, £1500! There a few clubs in the area that don't charge a joining fee, so we're going to be negotiating on Friday!

nice one Nick - I've played there loads of times and it is a very nice track, a bit of an overlooked gem in the area vs Sunningdale, Swinley, East Berks etc. They always seemed a nice bunch there too.

£1500 for a joining fee is steep though. I'd expect that you can negotiate that down given the state of golf membership more generally.

Yeah, alot of clubs have ditched joining fees to encourage more players but I suppose clubs that still have healthy memberships and waiting lists can get away with it.. Pity really as golf is expensive enough. Enjoy getting out there and playing though. I haven't joined anywhere this year as didn't get out enough last year - Played twice in the last week though :)

BANDIT ALERT!

I joined East Berks with my mate. Put three crap cards in and got 35 handicap.

Went round on Saturday in 88, 39 out, 49 in. My best ever score, which would have given me 52 points Stableford!
