Just wondering what people eat on very long bike rides (and runs)

I've got my High 5 (the nutrition used at the events I am training for) but there is only so much of that you can eat/drink.

I quiet like the Quaker Oats "Oats to go" bars which are like flapjack but less sweet and more solid.

Love malt loaf but sticks to my teeth!

Nakid bars I find too much chewing.

I used to love percy pigs but the recipe has changed!

I'll be looking at 7:30-8 hours on the bike!

TIA

Sticky/squishy, I would say less sticky, more squishy. Ok I don't do massive bike rides, and I don't mind stopping,so I have small back pack and everything is in there....it's a Vango, sits high up between my shoulder blades, small space for water. I use it for everything, hiking, bike, walking, coaching (flask of coffee)

stopped riding long, i.e. more than 80 miles, some time ago but it was malt loaf slices wrapped in foil and small square blackcurrant jam sandwiches with crusts cut off wrapped in foil, 2 of each. Small enough to fit in jersey pocket and easy to access as I rode.
One 500ml bottle of water and one 750ml bottle of weak high 5 carb mix.

For running ultras I like a mixture of sweet and savoury.
For savoury really like cold pizza - cook the day before then cut into slices and wrap in foil.
For sweet then like things that are quite moist - a few slices of fruit cake ( supermarkets call it Genoa Cake ) is quite easy to get down, and I feel all the raisins and sultanas are good for slow release carbs.
Both the above can be eaten on the go, if you have stops then mini-pots of creamed rice or custard are nice and refreshing

OMG Pizza! Now that is an idea!
Lammo I believe fraggle has roast spuds on her rides! I had a cold sausage on the run of the Outlaw half last year!

I've just seen in Tesco strawberry soreen as well as banana ones so bought those!
