Surrey Phil
This afternoon, I went to get the results of last month's prostate biopsy. The results being that I've been diagnosed with prostate cancer which was found in 11/24 samples taken. The Gleason score of 3+4=7 puts me in group 2 with 1 being a low growth rate and 5 high. The good news is it's been detected early and I have a good prognosis based on my age and level of fitness. Praise God!

For my age, the consultant recommended the removal of the prostate with surgery at St George's Hospital. The alternative is a four-week (20 days) course of radiotherapy at The Royal Marsden with regular PSA blood tests and hospital checks every six months thereafter. The consultant and nurses were brilliant and I just need to sit down and make a decision with regards to best treatment and we really feel the Holy Spirit's peace. The success rate is about 70%.

I really thank God for my two wonderful GPs who, from a routine blood test a couple of months ago, saw that my PSA levels were higher than they should have been, therefore referring me for further investigations. I would never have known otherwise as I have no symptoms whatsoever!

Tomorrow, I get the results of the ultrasound from the ganglion cyst on my right foot!

Phil, that’s obviously not the result that you wanted, but it is good news that it’s been diagnosed early.
Will pray for peace and guidance for you, and a successful resolution.

Thank the Lord that it's been picked up early, SP!
I will pray that you are able to come to the right decision for you about what happens next x
