I was powered up that hill by Duran Duran, Abba and S-Club 7 (or was that S-Club 2?!) :-) G

I think I might have finally thawed out from the weekend!! Definitely not my ideal (or, I imagine anyone's) weather conditions, but I'm elated with my 52 miles. :) Would have liked to get over 53 so I could have claimed my longest run ever, but missed out by less than half a mile in the end. The sound of the horn and knowing I could stop moving and put on dry clothes more than made up for it though!

Well done HappyG - I'm sure you're chuffed with your result! Never said well done in person as you were holed up in a tent, I hear. :P Hope you weren't feeling too rough.

Massive thanks to Mrs_Shanksi for the support, idle_wilder for the lend of a waterproof jacket (life saver!!) and a lift to Glenmore, and to RWR and Kynon for the lift home! Same time next year? ;)

Question for anyone who did the 12 hour race: next year is it the 12 hour again to beat your time, or the step up to the 24?

I was considering the 24 during the 12 minutes of sunshine, but the chance of gash weather again means my answer to that is now: no, no, no, no, no, no. 12 is plenty.

I honestly don't think I could run the same loop for 24 hours.
I will definitely be back to beat my new 12 hour PB though.

It's amazing how few people you see while running.
There was laps where I wouldn't see anyone at all except the wonderfully in tune signing marshals at the water station.

I didn't see Happy G once while I was running but saw him running well towards the end.

I loved it, you were all fab. Santa singing was one of the highlights for me! Had a bit of a boogie to the music myself. Shame about the weather, the hail was a bit mental! I think it's a wonderful race and I already want to do the 24 hr again and run for the WHOLE 24 hours (take note MikeR). I love the loop and I felt very happy to run on it again. I did 12 miles :-)

All the folk I supported were super and not demanding at all. Thanks guys.

Same time next year for sure :-)

Oh and special mention to Lintie's daughter Beth who ran 32 miles was it? She's a natural! Wonderful to see someone so young getting in to it. How much money did she raise?

£400 so far with more to come MrsS. 2 toenails on the way out and she got a special mention at assembly today. She totally rocks! I do fancy a 24 hour race but not Glenmore. I like the from midnight party way too much :-)
