Pretension. Possibly some padding or feathers too but mostly prevention.

Wobbling
the weirdy chap in my team wears a gilet under his coat on cold days and then keeps it on in the office. It's a sports one rather than one of those tweedy affairs and it looks odd when worn with a shirt and tie. And on a decidedly unsporty 60-something chap.

Tank tops are cool unless worn by someone doing sport. Then they are frankly disturbing.
