a 5 minute drop off in speed over 24 years. Hmmmm.....

Basically they don't want a field which is 80% bald middle aged blokes... sends the wrong message :-p

Just as well I am 23 with long flowing locks (see pic) and 7 min miling for me is a piece of piss...

Sub 4 at the age of 69 for a man seems quite tough too? Only 10 minutes slower than a sprightly 20-something lady...

Sub 5 once you're 70 though :-)

All the GFAs are soft. Mens U40 should be 3hrs. Then all the other age/gender based times should be on a comparable WAVA (which is more or less 70% I think).

The women's GFA are ridiculously soft. Not meaning to demean anyone's achievements or aspirations, but the targets should be tough in my opinion.

Good for age should mean what it says on the tin. Not "slightly better than the everyone else for your age"

It has taken me a couple of years to get GFA. It was done by a lot of hard work & some really good advice from the likes of Gobi. Listen & learn from more experienced runner. Its never to late to learn.

I got some advice from Gobi too. It was excellent, and very succinct. He said (and I quote) "run faster!"

:-) :-) :-)

I've been looking at the GFA times for VLM. I'm a little way off now, but it would be a nice aim. ...
