I'm no running till Mara.... Unless I do a couple of miles to collect my bike from it's service on Saturday morning :). I've had an uber taper Rested I liked to call it... Wound up like a tightly coiled spring.... Which hopefully can be controlled for the first 22 miles!

My postnatal class had a talk from a pushymothers instructor yesterday. She said no running or high impact until 6 months (longer if pelvic area pain) because changes to pelvis alter your gait, & centre of gravity has changed! Oh, and no Zumba as it's too much abdo/pelvic wiggling.
I need to start looking for my core...

LOL sorry Lizzie prolly not supposed to laugh but I did
I had pelvic pain while preggars an stopped running about 5/6 months but starts easy and not that often 4 weeks after. I did get the odd pain/twinge like feeling in the first couple of months I think similar ish to the previous pain but I didn't run often enough to keep aggravating it. And there's others on here done way more running way sooner than I! Think the 6 week thing is caution enough but 6 months is funny
Now... Core... I do need to work on that
Good stuff Toks! That's me nae running till mibbe a jogette on Saturday and then it'll be marathon time

Doh forgot the "everyone's different" caveat and that instructor types can't allow themselves to be blamed for anything happens to you due to exercise.
Who knows - maybe they've had a bad experience an taken to the mega cautious side of the fence. Also I think, like preggars, if it's something you're no at all used to then gung ho in there may no be the right choice :-s

Who said core? I did a couple of days when I did a fair amount of core work and thought - yes this will get me sorted, then a few days of Bodie not settling at too well at night and it's out the window and forgotten about! Must get back on it again. I ran over to the club last night and chatted to everyone for half an hour and then ran home. I really miss it but I can't get a baby sitter every week and certainly not twice a week to go along so last night i ran down there with the buggy and asked a coach if I was allowed to buggy run with the club. They are going to discuss it at a coaches meeting and maybe a committee meeting and let me know - I bet they say no

Oh ((((Elsie))) same here for me I cannot get baby sitter to go out and do dance classes that I love, such as belly dancing, street dance, hola hoop classes on the weekend and I miss it as Samuel won't even allow anyone to have him and mr toks works away it is challenging getting training done and that is why I have a treddy at home at least I can use that if I cannot get out to exercise!

I hope it works out Elsie. Can't really imagine there should be a real issue so long as the folks you're with are generally happy an some 'rules' for you to keep back a bit / out the way / maybe fit a bell if it's likely you'll needing to warn folks you're there (or shouting) - fingers crossed
