The world has gone crazy. I'm going to become an mp so I can sit on someone else seat, that's not even theirs

Free bar at Westminster, they wouldn't have to ask you twice to turn up and vote at a late night sitting.

I suppose it depends on your point of view as to whether you follow convention or not. Interesting to see if the SNP will keep challenging the conventions and whether their behaviour is deemed unparliamentary or used by the Speaker as an opportunity to regorm

Skinner got his seat. Not sure what all the fuss was about, but maybe that's the point. Just keep causing a fuss. You never know, he might have been in on it If Labour MPs were all like Dennis Skinner there'd be a whole lot more of them, particularly up here.

Yeah but instead of annoying the Beast of Bolsover, annoy the bloody enemy. Red Tories or not, they're not in power, Cameron is! Now let's see a better voting record from the SNP than that of 2005-2010 parliament where the SNP sided with the Tories over 70% of the time, and when it came to finance, that increased to 88% of the time. leftfootforward.org !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

What was the record in 2010-2015? As part of the Opposition, it would make sense for them to be voting against whichever party was in power. And North of the border, it's debatable if the Red or Blue Tories are the greater enemy.

That Leftfootforward article was written in March before the election. Another ill informed article in my opinion, throwing mud and hope it sticks.

Disagree, all papers have pointed out the SNP's voting record does not match what they present themselves as. It's one thing saying you're a left wing party, it's another thing actually voting in such a way. Let's see the voting record in this parliament, I suspect it won't be the solid left that many people are hoping for.

Nottingham Uni reveal that the least negative election campaign was UKIP, the most negative was Labour! n.b. only national parties, so regional ones not included
