Thanks folks - I’m resorting to resetting my garmin, deleting my garmin account and starting again tomorrow... 🤞

So... Reset the watch, deleted the Garmin account - opened a new one in a different email address, synced, (deleted old data on Garmin connect) re-connected garminconnect to fetch - and ..... Success! So whatever the gremlin was - it went.
