The Nike + watch is also assembled by 4 yr olds in sweatshops in Burma for the pleasure of not being beaten that day. (possibly)

Whilst of course Garmins were lovingly hand-tooled by some wizened old fool in a dusty shed in Corby...

Welcome to fetch! I have a 410, have had it a year and a half and no problems so far. If you can be bothered to read the manual it's really easy to use and upload and charge etc, occasionally wear it as a watch (bit chunky but so what). Looked at the specs for the Nike, and I think the garmin is way better - just don't carry it loose in a bag, as it may well turn itself on and reset everything... Shop around, prices keep changing.

Thanks beebop - its currently on sale at Amazon for £148.50 with a heart rate monitor. Oddly the 410 by itself is more expensive..

Right. the lovely, pretty-pretty FR210 I bought in June as a reward for running a marathon (and because i lost my 205, but it could be argued that was accidently-on-purpose as I'd already decided which new Garmin I wanted) has started misty. A quick google indicates this is a common problem with this particular flavour of Garmin so I'm going to send it back to Wiggle and (hopefully) get a full refund. This, of course, means I need another widget and quickly.

At the moment I'm looking at the 410 but reading comments above, have also cast my eyes, lustfully, over the 610. I don't do triathalons, I just run, a bit. I used the mapping function on my 205 and I've used the interval function on the 210 (and not just because I like looking at the little man being all puffed out) but I don't use the HRM (it's just another thing I'll need to remember in my long, faff-tastic 'getting ready for a run' palavar. It already takes me about 15 minutes, add in a HRM and it starts looking like work).

So, lovely experts of Fetchland, which gadget should I tell Santa I need?
