Hi everyone. Just got my 305 yesterday and been for my first run today with it. Love it....although I don't know what I'm doing, but I've read all the notes and tips and have to agree that GTC seems a bit naff and SportTracks looks a lot better. But I suppose I'll get the hang of it...eventually! |

The tip about switching the 305 on before leaving the house, leaving it on a windowsill and letting it lock onto a signal has saved me 5 minutes of wandering around in the rain before every run ![]() |

Top tip Danny is to not only run when it is raining. You can wander around in sunshine too waiting for Sat lock ![]() |

Ive got a 'sweet spot' in my house where I leave it while Im stretching - the only problem getting a signal is when its misty/foggy/rainy/humid (that darned moisture really screws up acquisition where I live)

Island, This seems to happen more when you plug it into a different USB port to the one you used last time. However, theUSB drivers have been notoriously buggy, it may be a good idea to download the latest software from Garmin including the drivers. Kink Bunny, map on the device or teh software on your PC? If you mean on the device I don't think Garmin do any mor detailed maps. The mapping on the 305 is very basic to be fair. Again if you download the latest software from Garmin OR get SportTracks you can get very detailed maps and Google/Maps/Earth capability. The links you need can be found in the article here under Software: http://www.fetcheveryone.com/article-view.php?id=142 |
