just downloaded the new GTC. seems to work well and a nice addition to have the google earth maps. Still gonna keep using sportracks though! But keep the GTC for uploading courses esp when planning long XC walking. Got the 305 for xmas so like others still working around it, but flipping heck.....what a great bit of kit!!

I had a few issues with GTC when i downloaded it, like it would not retain any new information whenever I exited the application big I re-installed and ran web updater again and it now stores my runs properly.
This is using Windows Vista.
I can't appear to get Google Earth to work with it though.

is google earth supposed to work with it then? only just installed it and it does show today's run as a yellow line (with black dots) in between the M1 and M69!

Yes, it is supposed to but, it is not listed as compatible with Windows Vista. I think that that may be my problem.
If you are using Vista then check that you can still see today's run when you log out and log back in.

I cant stand the training center software - the only thing it does well (and the only reason I carry on using it) is plotting graphs - for everything else I use SportTracks (free downloaded utility)

TC is only installed on mine for sending 'courses' created here to my unit. I use memorymap to send 'routes' to it when I need to use an OS map rather than googlemap for creating my route.
All logging is done with sporttracks.

have upgraded the TC to 3.2.2 but the install through the current version failed so I ended up downloading the whole app off the website. no problems and I can now see my route in Goggle Earth. Just checked out yesterdays route and not a single step on houses or shooting across golf courses like my mates GPS (not garmin) does. So very happy of accuracy just need to sort sportstracks - is it worth it?
