A quick thank you to all of you who answered my questions or otherwise commented a couple of weeks ago. I bought a 235 and have been delighted with it. It picks up a GPS signal much more quickly than my old 310XT and the training/race upload via phone is just what I wanted. It looks as if the battery life is going to be quite spectacular too.

I have configured the main screen to show four different fields in a 1-2-1 formation and they are easy enough to read on the move. (Now I need to read the manual and work out how to stop it sending me whatsapp messages and other such stuff that I like to escape from while running!)

I am just starting to run again and have an old 205

I am looking to purchase a 235 but I only have an iPad and iPhone. Can my runs still be uploaded to fetch without a laptop?

I have read the above post and presume this is possible? Do you just use the Garmin Connect App?

Thanks

Hi Ripcurl Running.

I have a 235. Yes, I have put the Garmin Connect App on my iPad and then linked my Garmin account to Fetch. It works for me.

And once it’s connected, at least half the time it seemlessly upload without even pressing a button :-)

Now go and look in the Garmin App Store and see what whizzy watch faces and other things you can load onto it . . . :-)

One of the most useful data fields I have found is 'simple pace' (I think it’s called' which displays an averaged pace over say 15 secs. This smooths out the instant pace a bit and makes for a more accurate figure.
