No knowledge of the 205. But the symptoms point towards a dead battery... Warranty?

That link didn't work Can the battery in my Forerunner be replaced? Some devices utilize a user-replaceable battery. Reference the FAQ, "How do I change the battery in my FR70, FR60, or Forerunner 50?" for assistance with this process. Many of our Forerunners utilize a rechargeable, lithium battery. This battery has an expected life of about 1,000 charges and is not user replaceable. It will need to be replaced by Garmin via the RMA process. Often power issues are not related to a battery failure. If Forerunner is not charging or is quickly losing power, try cleaning the charging contacts on the back of the device and on the charging equipment with rubbing alcohol and Q-tip. This will remove any possible invisible residue. If a battery power issue is still present, it is possible the issue is software related, in which a software update is suggested. Refer to support FAQ, "How do I update the device software on an ANT enabled Forerunner device?" for wireless devices or "Can I update my unit software without using the WebUpdater?" for all other Forerunners. support.garmin.com 205 |

There is a 'request service' option on the link I just posted but it looks like it covers the UK as well: United States and United Kingdom Customers Only United States and United Kingdom customers can submit online service and replacement requests at this time.

Options are either make use of Garmin's service where they will supply you with a refurbed model (as new) about £50, or there is a guy advertises on ebay - about £30 or so to replace the battery (with a better one), but there is a chance the speaker won't work afterwards (prob a bit of a wait as well as he is in the states). May be other people in the uk prepared to give it a go.
