oh sounds interesting .. are they fresh breadcrumbs? I like bread and giving my navigational skills I may need the snack!

Can you get a gluten-free 305, I wonder?

From what I recall, yes.

Let me know how it goes Evil Pixie. Last time I tried to follow a course, it has a hissy fit and finished 100 yards from where I started. I only noticed when I got back home and reset the Garmin only to find that it hadn't recorded anything :-( . I haven't tried it since.

I think that it should tell you when you are at the start point and then tells you when you are off course.

I'll be intrigued to see if it works. I'm skeptical.

Spally - that sounds more liek routes than courses. Routes gives directions between waypoints, and doesn't always seem to do them in order but pick the nearest waypoint as the next. I've been doing a figure 8 route before and it decided that at the cross over it would be quicker if I just went home on the homeward part of the outbound loop. Anyway...

to do courses, you need to load them in from training centre, then go training-courses, select a course, press enter, and choose 'do course'

You then still have to press start to actually start the garmin recording course details. You can follow the course on either the map screen or the compass screen.
