Yeah, that happens. There is sometimes a choice of matches and you either go from what seems right against the organizer's website, or use your judgement. Unless it is a race out in the wilds I don't use the course fir the actual race anyway.

I did a small bike ride this evening and wondered why one of my bugs wasn't squished. Garmin trace for the first half is really weird, started in the wrong place and nowhere near the route I actually took. About halfway it seemed to start behaving itself. Never had anything like this happen before.

Yes, that happened to me with the route of the Leipzig marathon. I had the old course in my Garmin calendar. Someone had added the old route to the event and I assumed that that's what we're going to run. But since I wanted to know where the water stations were going to be, I checked the official website and there I found the new route.

And I also know what alpenrose described. I live between high rise buildings so Garmin sometimes has issues finding me at the beginning of my run or walk. Once I get into more open space, it realises its mistake and puts me right. If I'm trying to find people in hide and seek, that can be a bit of a problem.

I'm new to gym-going and wondering how best to Garmin sessions without lots of faffing. Vivoactive 3. The current machines don't talk to Garmins. I've read the bit about calibrating for treadmill, I guess the other things will need some manual adjustments in the log? Should I just record 1 session (gym? Workout?) And take a photo of each display when I stop?! Trying to not over complicate...

If you just adjust the distance to match the treadmill at the end after using a "indoor" or "treadmill" run type on the Garmin then I think other splits etc get recalculated. I reckon that's the lowest faff option which will then get uploaded to here etc. Not sure what happens if treadmill reports say 5.2 miles and Garmin estimates 4.9miles so there's only 4 "laps" recorded.

I think my Garmin offers me the option to calibrate the distance after each treadmill run. When I hit stop, I have to scroll one up to get there.

Hmm, maybe I'm imagining it. Wouldn't be the first time I've given duff info!!

Have I missed the info that Garmin won’t let me use the web browser version of connect on the ipad anymore?

Is there a way to do it? Doesn’t seem to matter what I do I end up opening the app - which isn’t what I wanted
