It’s taking a while to get the same feel for what pace numbers mean in km rather than miles; the mile paces are almost synaesthetic for me, anything that starts with a 6 is red and smells of track, anything that starts with 11 is rocks underfoot and sunlight shining through branches. I made a conversion spreadsheet and read it every now and then…

I thought by “mix and match” larkim was talking about how it’s a lot quicker to switch on FE, where it’s one click on any page, where with runalyze it’s half a dozen. Certainly that’s what I meant by saying I was compatible, now I’ve stopped swopping units depending whether I’m thinking about 5/10k or other distances.

I meant things like if you select miles as the units then you're stuck with race distances of 3.11m rather than 5k, and climb in ft rather than m. I like to mix and match; miles for distance and pace, weight in kg, height in m, and race distances as they're described.

It's the race distances that annoy me the most tbh; and I know it shouldn't! But having to remember that on runalyze 3.11m is the right distance for a 5k and 26.22m is the right distance for a marathon annoys me.

Plus there are language issues; "longjog" is the most annoying!

Minor things though; and thanks for the decimal / comma pointer - can't believe I'd not spotted that before!

Yes, I feel a lot of that could be fixed by having a set of standard race distances to pick from as well as being able to set non standard ones where needed. Quite fiddly as it stands.

Oh ok, yes get you. They do have standard distances but they aren't selectable. For example 5000 for track does show up but you have to enter it at more than two decimal places in miles for it to snap to, same with 1500.

I can understand maybe that they'd need to add different translation tables to the backend to make those things work. I've logged them in the past with RA on their suggestions tools.

It definitely something I don't really keep up to date unless it's a PB and I've been lax on that as well.
