The climbpro feature looks great 👍 Like the entry level cycle computers. It gives you data on your current hill - the grade and how far to peak. Could be very useful for pacing. Are there any more affordable GPS watches / garmins that have that. I have the forerunner 245 which I am very happy with but it has no such elevation feature

If the fenix 6s does I have one going cheap 🤣

Kieran, think you need to have a barometric altimeter to get Climbpro. The Instinct is currently on sale on the garmin site at £179 and has it. Possibly cheaper elsewhere, also check Vivoactive 4 I think.

The Vivoactive 4 has a barometric altimeter?? Well, that's a bonus - I didn't know! :-) [glares at watch on left wrist]

Thanks guys. I'll keep that in mind for the next upgrade.

I've overspent on warm outdoor clothes from montane, alpkit, Decathlon so need to keep my spending restrained for the rest of 2022 half 1 :-)

So does the 6, but mine is the small and in white so probably wrong size and colour.

I was supposed to be being restrained but you know..... hehehe

Really,HappyG(rrr)> That's a well hidden feature of MrsMMM's VA3 watch. Although it only usually gets used for swimming or parkrunning, both of which don't have any significant altitude (around here at least!). :-)

Mind you, as a watch it's a bit too clever for it's own good sometimes!

And it was the altimeter that failed on 3 (or 2?) VA3s that I owned. So while I like it to be more accurate than GPS altitude, I'd also like it to not break!

VA4 going strong though. At £229 a far cheaper watch than the big models. :-) G
