Well yeah. He also wants a map, maybe he should just take his phone along.

I've not found one by looking in the Connect store, so it probably doesn't exist, but does anyone know if there is a datafield (not a widget) which would allow barometric pressure to be recorded as a data point during the run? I'm curious to see what the barometer is reading whilst it creates the sawtooth pattern of elevation changes.

Advice required please.

My 310xt has finally almost died - well the watch is still working, but all the buttons have fallen out and the strap has broken (at the point where it attaches into the watch, so no, a new strap isn't a solution).

It'll last a bit longer, but I need to start thinking about a replacement.

The whole Garmin range has changed since I bought mine, so suggestions for replacements would be appreciated.

Swimming (including indoor) options would be a bonus (as per the 310xt), but tbh if I'm swimming outdoors, I can always throw a watch in my towfloat and indoors I can just count, so running and biking measurement is the most crucial.

Ideas please!

If you are looking for something more rugged rather (and old fashioned) than a watch with music, maps and contactless payment then the Garmin Instinct Solar has just gone on offer price. I have not seen it this cheap before and it should cover all you need although someone may know better:

That's significantly more than I'd anticipated spending!

I don't really need music, maps and social media nonsense etc on a running watch!

I don't think I paid more than £120 for my 310xt.

The newest lower end watches from Garmin are the FR55 and FR245, both worth a look. Look at DC Rainmaker for comparisons and full feature set. Last generations will be cheaper but not as shiny, see FR45 and FR235. Not sure which do swimming but go to DCR and you can compare between them.

Ha! DC Rainmaker product comparison suggests a 310XT which is no longer available...

I have a 45, which I love, but it doesn't do swimming. I have to log it as a walk then change it. Otherwise it's perfect for what I want.

You should be able to pick up a second had 920 (or even 910) for a reasonable price these days. They don't have all the new fancy stuff (920 has some) but they'll do the sports measurement all day long.
