Muttley - on my 235, the path to get that would be... Run - Menu - Settings - Heart Rate Monitor |

Mutley, on my Fenix 5, pressing the lap button in pause mode takes me to the data screens for a little while and I can see HR or time of day or whatever. Then it reverts. Don't know if it would work for yours.

Muttley - The bit I missed was that, when you reach the Heart Rate Monitor in the menu, you then get the option to switch on/off

Mutley, if I've understood what you want correctly, ie you want to change what data scrolls across the screen while an activity is paused - then I'm not aware that you can alter this. I've always just had to do what Cog says, ie press Lap to take you back to the data screens. |

I'm reasonably sure you can change those fields as I think I changed mine. I just can't work out how...

Hmmm. I shall try the lap button when I go out for a bimble tomorrow. I tried Snail's suggestion but the menus are different on the 245 (but thank you anyway!) The 245 has doodahs called a widget loop and widget glances, but I haven't a clue what they mean. |

So, I pressed lap during this morning's slow plod and yes, it takes me to whichever screen I was using. In this case, the walk-run. To look at hr I have to scroll as usual, with sweaty hands. Not ideal but not a disaster either. It's a pain that you can't customize the way the screens cycle when paused. This might be the only thing you can't customize on the watch. But pressing lap will do when I'm running to hr. I might make a suggestion to Garmin. Thank you to all who chipped in! |

flanker - I was wondering if you were thinking of the data that briefly pops up each lap, you can definitely customise that screen ( on Fenix at least, not sure about other models )
