I don't think I quite get the Fenix watches, I know that they have loads of functionality that appears to be tailored to the off-road and mountain runner, but from what I can tell they are mostly used by road runners. Quite a few people had them in my old club and every one of them would have broken into a feverish rash if they ever strayed off asphalt or concrete.
