I opened a Starling account just to pay with my watch. Keep it topped up now and again from my current account. I like to keep about £150 in there. However, I would say that, because you have to enter your PIN on the watch, it can sometimes not be as quick as flashing your contactless card.

You don't have to enter your PIN every time, only every so often if you don't take the watch off I believe. BTW, I have 945 and use garmin pay with Curve too. Also, Curve lets you change the card the payment goes from after the fact if you need to.

With my 645 the PIN seemed to last all day until a plastic strap retaining post snapped off for no reason and it now lives in its box

I got a Santander account just to be able to use Garmin Pay. Other banks take note. I top it up around £200 and when I was at work used it for my coffees and lunch, so £10 a day. Banks get some reasonable interchange from that.

I'm going to get a Garmin Vivoactive 4 to replace my (working fine except for altimeter) Vivoactive 3. Can't find any deals so just going to nearby Currys PC World.

Unless any of you know differently...?! :-) G

Don't be talking about upgrading watches :)G I have a perfectly fabulous Fenix 6s, but really want either the black and rose gold sapphire or grey solar.... working on justifying that spend when this is a mere 13months old.

I was using garmin pay on my watch pre lockdown - quite a novelty but I have my card in my mobile which is a bit slicker for me to use.

So anyone wishing to encourage an upgrade all suggestions/justifications greatly received.

On their usual upgrade cycle I'd expect the Fenix 7 to show up later this year. G'wan, you can wait.

Will be interesting to see what's in the 255. I probably just need to look at the 945 to find out but the 245 is pretty much perfect for me now. I suppose some of the lactic stuff would be interesting if it can be trusted.

Do you always run with your mobile gg? There are times that I don't and then I appreciate having the watch to pay. The 21st century equivalent of a folded fiver in your sock!

I wish they would sort the altimeter on the VA3. I've just discovered from some reddit and other forums to expect the VA4 to be just as bad. Oh well! :-) G

Garmin Pay is slicker than a phone, not to mention much more convenient
