I'm guessing that Kieren's referring to the old Drayton Green running track, which is avocado shaped and just short of 400m (I have a friend on Str*v* who trains there). Have a look at W13 0ET on google maps.

Good guess Oranj but not the right one. It's The Regent's Park track that occupies a space between a road and the canal. Below is a copy/paste from a hotel website when I googled:

-------------

The track is a quaint 423y (approx. 386.8 m) 1896 Olympics style cinder track with very long straights and extremely tight bends.

It was in existence by 1933 when it was reportedly 421y (385m) in length and the shape of it is due to the space available at the time. The reason for this 2 yard discrepancy is not known.

The track is in good condition, but the surface is a bit uneven and the westerly end of the track appears to be slightly lower than the easterly one. The track is marked with 6 lanes in the summer, but it is only about 5.5 proper lanes in width.

When the track is marked, there are 2 lines across the track approximately 13m apart about halfway down the straight nearest the Outer Circle road, which indicate the start and finish points for a 400m run.

Isn't using a garmin during competitive races banned as it is a pacing aid? Or has that rule long since become victim to progress?

Well given they no have pacing lights for world records, it would be a bit silly. I'd happily race with a standard watch though as I have my watch only showing elapsed time anyway. I used a standard Timex till 2015 for all my running and I only started using my Garmin on track because my Timex broke.

Noticed that in the summary uploads Fetch now displays beats per mile. Is this a Garmin change or a Fetch change?

eg

Split Summary
===
1) 1m - 8:14(8:14/m) 131/144bpm [1078b/mi] 92cal 7.29/7.99mph

boyband6666 asked if I could include a beats/mile figure in each of the text splits - because those text splits are handy if you've done (say) a 1.5 mile warm up, then a 2.7 mile effort, then a 2.1 mile cool down. If each is a lap, then it's easy to pick out your b/m for the hard bit, etc.

Nice, it's very useful as that's one of the metrics I always found myself scrolling down into the pace table for, but as bb666 points out when you've got uneven splits that wasn't great.

I've got a user who is struggling to get their Garmin connection working, having bought a new phone.

I am currently trying to establish whether the app on their phone is sending the data to one Garmin account, whilst Fetch is attached to a different Garmin account.

To help work this out, I need to be able to see which user I am signed in as on the Garmin Connect app. And right now, I'm struggling to do that. Closest I've found is to go More... > Settings > Profile & Privacy > Manage Garmin Account... but that takes me to a website, which is asking me to sign in. So it's not really telling me who I currently *am*.

Anyone know where I should be looking?

...I've found my username via:

More... > Settings > App Diagnostics

buried in a bunch of not especially friendly technical info. Hoping there's a nicer way to find it, for the benefit of the user I'm trying to help.
