Can anyone with an old Garmin use a velcro extender strap? I think it came with my 205, designed to extend the wrist strap. Plastic loop at one end, velcro at the other. Free to good home, never used, no sweat here.

If anyone has a 935, 945, Fenix 5 or 6 that has mysteriously developed cracks on the optical HR sensor windows then a remedy is available. My 935 was approaching two years old and I'd noticed what looked like deep scratches on the HR sensor windows. I'd been very careful with it, but blamed myself for a moment of unwitting inattention. Recently, I stumbled across a discussion thread elsewhere where many owners of this series of Garmins were complaining of sensor window cracking. Someone suggested that contacting Garmin Support would secure a replacement. I contacted Garmin with low expectations; they'd been unhelpful previously when Wifi failed on a 920 following a software update. But, no quibbles this time and my 935 was replaced swiftly. This issue may affect many optical HR Garmins. |

My 935 was replaced after the barometric alti went haywire. I’ve always found them very helpful...

I’ve never had a decent reading off a wrist based watch think it’s skinny wrists. I ended up buying an armband which is better. |

Where are they getting refurbs from though? Or are they "DIY refurb"? One review - Stopped working after 3 days, I knew this price was too good to be true. Nice people, bad product. Get it new from somewhere, wait till you can afford it. |

Though it does say 3 month warranty, so I suppose you could just take your chances. If it is genuinely just "unwanted gifts" being resold, I suppose it's not too much risk?
