Thanks Fetch. Will it be obvious how to get a FIT file out of a ZiP file? Can I do all this on an iPad? Or do I need to get my steam powered laptop out and put garmin connect on it? |

Sushi, Is the 2nd run there ok in Garmin Connect ? If so, then before playing about with zip and FIT files, it might be worth giving it a "nudge". Start your watch as if going a run, and stop after just a few seconds, this should create a small activity which is then copied over to fetch as normal ( and you can delete from fetch ) but it might also bring across any other files that didn't make it the previous time. If that doesn't work then it's time to follow the instructions that fetch linked to above, note that it says that point 3 cannot be done on a mobile device and has to be a desktop ( which also means laptop ). You don't need to install Garmin Connect though, just go to the GC website connect.garmin.com |

Thanks Gus. I’d tried that and sadly it didn’t work. Time to stoke the fires and create the steam to power the laptop. Thanks for the link. It’ll give me something to distract me if the rugby doesn’t go the right way. 🏴 |

Thanks. Got it successfully and on my iPad. I used the website rather than app which meant it opened in safari as if on a desktop and was able to then see the ‘cog’ |

Groundhog
Had a poor connection day. Oddly my run downloaded to my Connect phone app, but didn't appear on Fetch. It wasn't on the Connect desktop site either, for a few hours until I got off the sofa, fired up the laptop and connected the watch to it. It looks like the threat of bypassing Connect to copy out a FIT file woke it up.

um
Not just you Groundhog ... I think the Garmin site had an afternoon siesta today. Only dozing because it wasn't completely down or rejecting things, just took mine about 2 hours, although showing 'synchronising' the whole time. |

um
I think it was all 'inbound to Garmin' K5, not anything Fetch, or that other downstream site could do about it.

Help a fetchie? 🙏 My 645 music is a PITA. The elevation is mad, the heart rate tracking likes to take the night off, and the IQ/Spotify link is unreliable. I really don't want to have to get rid. Any tips for general remedial measures I might take? I have been whinging in more detail on the blog: fetcheveryone.com/blog/65832/2021/03#421374 |
