Think it depends on exactly which gps chip you have.

There was a bug with the Sony chips but an update should have fixed it

Not so much the chips but the satellite location file that garmin (and others) distribute. It's been updated and devices will gradually update as users synch them.

I’ve been having some issues with the wrist based HRM on my 245 music. I thought it was me but went back on my HR run strap it’s 100% accurate. I spoke to Garmin they said wash the back and switch the wrist function back on and off. Didn’t work.

Started my easy run mile one 118 accurate then 162-170 last mile !!!

Yep, useful as a resting HR monitor 23*7, but when exercising pretty useless for me. Seems to work OK for some though..........

I'm conflicted about wrist HRM, the 735XT and the 645 were always excellent as was the 245 until about last October when all of a sudden after a firmware upgrade it started registering crazily high. I have been using a Polar OH+ optical as the external HRM since early December which has been excellent (thus giving me more reason to believe that the optical concept works). Since the 245 was upgraded to firmware 6.20 on Thursday I have done two runs without the Polar and have had realistic HR measurements from the 245.

Polar isn't (or shouldn't be) worn on your wrist though. It works because it's in a better location than a watch.
