Thats a good point SPR. I would hope it would have the correct data written to a cache first to avoid this - who knows.

I've opened a chat with Garmin Support - feeling slightly bad for the front line agent that has to try and grasp this.

- Fetch, I will try my best for another PB. :-)

Back to brands, my perception was that Garmin were relatively late to the "running watch" party, but booted the likes of Polar into the weeds pretty quickly with GPS functionality?

But my perception has been wrong before...

I think Polar got in early with watches that had HRM links quite early, but Garmin got there before them to a watch with GPS tracking.

I remember a friend getting a Polar HRM back in 1998, but if I remember right, there was nothing much like the Forerunner 101 when that came out - I would guess at late 2004 or mid 2005?

Back a couple of pages and the reference to Fitness Age - totally agree that it is a meaningless metric but I find it really good for winding up people who claim that running ages you (yes these people are real). Incidentally the wording has changed to "Your Fitness Age is 20", from the much more flattering
