Usually Garmin straps are actually better than 3rd party ones. Mrs CE has a 245 and the strap works for her ok.

New strap for my 6X turned up this morning, good timing as the rubber strap has really irritated my skin for some reason. |

Where did you get it from? I've been having real skin irritation problems with rubber 645 strap.

I got mine from Esprit, but they are in france so I don't know what the shipping to the UK is like. esprit-nato.com I think the 645 has a 20mm strap, so google for "20mm 2-piece nato strap" should bring up lots of options. You should check whether you can use the spring bars from your current strap otherwise you might need to order more of those as well. |

That's a good tip, thanks Sam - I have issues with the rubber strap too.

I’m using a very old hard garmin chest strap which I think I’ve had for a good 6 or 7 years. It’s starting to show signs of wear around the holes where the elastic strap clips in to the monitor part. Is the feeling amongst the experts here that an actual Garmin chest strap is needed or would any of the variety of cheap chinese knock offs on Amazon do the trick? (I’m using it paired to the 735xt but more often to the PM5 on my rowing machine if that makes any difference) Thanks. |

Nellers I recently bought a polar oh9 which seems to work well. Someone on here suggested to steer clear of CoosPoo for running but was ok for cycling which was sensible advice

Never used a Garmin hard strap, but hear only good things about them. The genuine Garmin soft straps are imo crap. I've been through 3 of them and they don't seem to work very well for very long at all. Several (6 or 7) years ago I bought a Polar soft strap to use with Garmin 620 and it has performed flawlessly. Have a separate Polar soft strap bought the same time as my erg nearly 4 years ago and works perfectly too. Sorry can't comment on other brands but would recommend Polar all day long.

Neither of my activities today have any HR data I've checked and HR is set to auto (the only other alternative appears to be off) and I haven''t changed anything. Garmin 910xt -built-in monitor rather than using a strap- any ideas? |
