Thanks. That all makes sense. When I occasionally forget it overnight the RHR is distinctly higher.

My resting HR goes lower during the day than it ever does during sleep.

Gosh!
I'm 58-62 most nights
back in the say I went below 40 a couple of times (like 10yr ago)

I did worry a nurse once - tried 3 machines on me that all "broke" and bleeped that I had a low HR so I had to point out I was a runner she was happy then!

my run the other day had several mins when it seemed to be recording a lot lower than I felt it should have - like in the 130s when I thought it would be nearer 150
I know a few blips from wrist is almost expected but this was a few mins so I was going to use my chest strap
or do you think it's accurate enough?

I don't believe my Garmin (Vivoactive 3) HR readings. I've had it replaced recently. Cos altimeter wasn't working) and HR seems a *bit* better after that. Don't know if it's updated software or whether the actual HR monitor a bit better.

I made myself unpopular at home by wearing my OH1+ in bed to see what my sleeping HR was like; it blinks bright green on the side permanently and was a touch distracting for my better half to sleep next to.

And then, having worn it through the night, I discovered that the Polar software that can read the offline trace doesn't report on resting HR, which I thought was particularly peculiar!

I have the new Fenix6 and it seems to be very much improved but still use an HRM for the more serious stuff
