After a lazy couple of weeks I had a quality week last week. I am however now a member of the ‘No Status’ crew! How long does it take to kick back in or did you have to do anything?
It just says run outside twice - which I have done.

No idea. Turned it off.
Twice seems short for anything that wants to give a proper training status though.

According to my OHR my last few easy runs have been very close to max HR efforts, so either there’s something wrong with me or something wrong with the HT reading. I’m hoping it’s cadence lock but, worryingly, I’m not 100% certain.
That’s a long-winded way of saying I’m looking to buy an upper arm optical HRM, and was wondering which is currently considered to be the best while, preferably, having a long battery life.
I know Badger has looked at this in the past but wondered if anyone else has done the comparison (and no, I’ve not checked DCR yet )

I bought the polar OH1+ based on the DCR review, plus my sister had one and was positive about it.
I can't remember precisely what the killer feature was for me. I quite like the standalone ability, but haven't used it much. The polar app is a bit rubbish in terms of how it presents data and it doesn't do some things that I'd expect it to do, but 99% of the time I'm using it with the watch anyway so those things are an irrelevance.

Quite surprised given the age of my watch (1st gen Vivoactive) to see a firmware update install today, v5.20 released 9th October 2020. No features, but still nice to know security updates are applied.

The detailed test I did was on a Scosche Rhythm+. I now have a Tickr Fit, which has much better battery life. The current Scosche unit has much better spec than the old one, but a lot of firmware issues that have never been ironed out AFAIK (it's supposed to do things like the HRM-Tri and -Swim style post-activity sync, but it doesn't work, possibly because those have some idea of time and it doesn't, dunno).
I actually have two Tickr Fits - lost one before an ultra that I really didn't want to wear a chest strap for, found it again the week after and felt I couldn't try for a refund on the sweaty new one. If you want to play with one, pm me your address & I'll post it on to you.
I've heard very good things about the Polar too. Both of them you have to be careful putting a tight long sleeved top over in case they move, the strap comes loose, or they flip over so the sensor is facing out instead of in!

I wear mine just below my elbow, I found it rubbed my flabby man bits too much when I wore it over the loose flesh that is supposed to be covering biceps. Not had it flip at all down there, as you'd expect.
Battery life is more than adequate, and whilst it's not as long as the Wahoo or Scosche models in some ways the fact that you need to recharge it weekly or so means I'm more likely to remember where I've left the charger!!

I'd be interested in testing the Tickr if Flanker isn't.

I'm afraid he is ;-). Although if he decides he likes it he'll buy one so it night be available (owner-willing!) at some point in the future.

Haha, thought you might be. You have the same idea as me although it's races where I need to test really as I'm happy with chest strap in training.
