If it’s the same as the 6 series, press start, pick the activity type, hold down the Up key till a menu appears, go into Training, scroll down until you find Training Calendar. No way to get into the calendar or into the list of routes without picking an activity first. Can’t say I particularly like that.

Thank you so much I could not access that menu and had watch maybe 3 weeks. It is not easy to find. I don't like it also. Easier to find with 735 but I am grateful 😊

The way Badger has described it is also the same on the 245 so I presume that's their standard menu now (depending upon whatever the beta version has).

In fairness to Garmin, the idea is supposed to be that you only find workouts or routes designed for the specific activity type, but it's a big shift from the other watches - took me a while to find routes on my first watch with this menu structure.

Not sure about the 6, but the routes on the 5 are still available through the main menu > Navigation > Courses > Course > Do Course.

As well as through the activity menu Badger mentions.

On a similar note (as I keep forgetting to test this) does anyone know if it's possible to turn on and then off a course during a longer activity?

Thinking behind the question is that for many long events there's oftern only a few bits where the nav is tricky, and as following a course has a significant battery hit I'd rather just use it for those bits.

Yes. That’s what I did during the LT 55k last year, using my 5 at the time.

Isn’t yours a 5+? My 5 has no navigation at the top menu level, just watch face/clock/history/settings, and Settings>Navigation has DataScreens/Type/Heading Bug/Alerts. The 6 scrolls down into the Settings list after History, and Navigation there has just Data Screens/Heading Bug/Alerts. Wondering if there’s a setting I’ve missed that enables seeing them there?
