I presume any 655 would have WiFi, NFC and barometer which differentiates it from 245 - other than WiFi for the music one I gather

For the price increase it's not much though is it?

Sigh
I suspect they'll throw solar recharging in to the next generation as well.

SPR: agreed which is why I wondered if they will bother unless they have some totally breakthrough gizmo to unveil.

Sigh: Solar is a reasonable shout but don't see it as a big enough improvement.

The biggest problem with the 645 IMO is entry level battery life at premium pricing.

K has just got a 945 and I have to say I'm very impressed with it. Unfortunately it's made me start looking at Fenix 6s when I'd promised myself (and the bank manager) that I'd stick with the 5+ for the foreeable.

Groundhog: Thanks for advice but due to issues my garmin's last 13 months before burning out I will buy new with 2 year warranty.Just not sure if I but the same or upgrade.
I have a 310 still works and tough as old boots then a 230 7 replacement and then got rid of it for the 735 xt.
Will have to mull it all over.

My 935's barometric altimeter is now giving increasingly nonsense results, often out by a factor of 10 or more. I've cleaned the port, done a hard reset and a full factory reset none of which have helped. I've contacted Garmin support to see if they can do anything for me and I'm awaiting a reply but as it is 18 months old I'm not hopeful.

Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the barometric sensor and just rely on GPS/map data for elevation (like the 245)? I can't see an option other than record by record in the Garmin Connect website (enable elevation correction), by which time the duff data has been sent on to other sites.

Fortunately Fetch seems to ignore the barometric data which at least means the data on here is sensible!

bja I got a vivoactive 4s for my birthday and don’t like the way you have to adjust the elevation in connect either. Can’t see a way to change it.

My watch appeared to be faulty the tracks all over the place and giving me optimistic results.

I’ve returned it and now getting a 735.

Tried the HRM Dual with new battery today - HR was garbage but sent something (60-90 bpm) and running dynamics. Might try to wash it and one more try then buy a new one.
