Just replaced my 305 with a 220 as some of the buttons stopped working. Seems ok at the moment, only thing is it doesn't show how long you have spent in each heart rate zone which the 305 did.

Only been out with it twice so far.

Back to the training log question, I use Sport Tracks - have done since I started using a GPS in 2006! Tried Garmin Connect but didn't like it for a number of reasons such as the annoying bike route layer on the map, not being able to log your kit to name a couple.

yep, SportTracks for me two, as my master log, but I also use Fetch and Connect (neither takes any effort as the upload is automatic and its handy having the data online at times)

Good morning ladies and gents. I know this is a 305 thread but I have a 205 and my understanding is that the only difference is the heart monitor on the 305.
I need some help. My 205 is nearly 3 years old. After 2 years I sent it back and paid £47 to have it refurbished as the alerts and beeps" were very quiet. it came back fixed with a 90 day guarantee. After less than 5 months it went quiet again. I emailed them and after 10 days they replied and said that the 90 days were up but as a gesture of good will they would have it back but only charge me 50%. During this time the little bugger started working properly. You guessed....its gone quiet again. Has anyone else had this problem? It is heading for the nearest bus to be thrown under!!

My 205 is rather shy and quiet, has been for a year or more. As everything else still works I've chosen not to mind ;-)

My 305 has been quiet since about 6 months in - it's annoying but I live with it - apparently it is quite a common problem

I'm a bit mutton so the beeps or lack of them mean little to me :(

I've had the same problem - I think the 'speaker' holes are a bit prone to getting clogged up, so not a lot you can do, unless youve got a very fine nozzle for your vaccuum cleaner ;-)

Gave the little sod a go with the vacuum cleaner today. Made no difference. I am well and truly hacked off with it. I emailed garmin again today but guess that will fall on deaf ears.

don't email them, call them. Their phone support is very good, their email ... err ... significantly less so! They'll swap it out for a recon for 50 quid or so.

From what i remember the lack of sound is due to corrosion not the holes getting clogged up. Don't do what I did and poke anything through the holes to improve the sound as there is a waterproof membrane behind them, and it doesn't work too well when full of holes!
