Has anyone used a 305 with a footpod? I training at 180 bpm running cadence to help with fore/midfoot landing, would a footpod paired to my 305 give me a cadence on the display during workouts?

Thanks, PS - found out it was my usb cable that was faulty doh!

I have various weird things going on with my 305 when I try to upload training. On my work PC it doesn't find the Garmin any more and when I plug it into the USB port it says that the device has malfunctioned & I get beeping on and off as though it's constantly being plugged in and removed (even though it's connected). It does that with all three USB ports. On my Mac at home I get the "FitnessHistory" error that seems applicable to newer Garmins.

Any ideas?? It's 4 years old now so I'm wondering whether that's something to do with it. Should I do a hard reset - if so how?

Thanks for any help!

Just for the record, I did a hard reset and it's OK now, at least on my work PC.

I am talking to myself here now!

That didn't fix it. I've updated the drivers but still no joy. I don't think it's a cable problem as it still charges - just won't communicate with the PC.

Any ideas?

thanks for all the suggestions! I reinstalled the drivers and the communicator plugin, and I found a different cable to plug into the cradle - and it's uploaded fine to my PC tonight without any of the connecting/disconnecting noises (so far). And it's talking to my Mac as well.

So maybe it was a cable thing. It was charging OK with the other cable but maybe something else was wrong with it.

In 10 years (or much less) we'll probably think it was weird that we needed cables for all this stuff!

At least cables work, i have a polar HRM that has a "sonic uplink". That has never worked. Never had a problem with the 305 yet.
