James, the gsc10 auto calibrates the wheel circumference by using the GPS distance as your travel when you first use it, however if it's not been used outside then it can't, however that doesn't mean there isn't the option to force wheel size somewhere in the settings.

Guys & gals, looking to see if anyone can help. Lately all my my satellite maps seem to be disappearing / have disappeared on SportTracks. On a couple of occasions when I've initially loaded it up, it says there's a new version available but I haven't downloaded it as I think this could be the version I have to pay for? Am I right? Is this their way of getting me to pay for it? Saying that if it's not too expensive I'd maybe think about it as I've a good few years training on there :(

And is there any way to get my maps back on the version I have just now (2.1) - I've gone to the dropdown list and tried to change the setting - some maps don't even get street view now :(

Debs - it seems that Google has updated the way it delivers maps to applications (or the license key has expired) and as ST2 is no longer being updated it means that it will not pick up maps for any areas you haven't run before. I've only had a quick look at Kinky's copy but I don't think there is any easy way to get around this.

ST3 can be used without paying for it, with a few advanced features disabled. However I've paid for mine as I think since it's software I use every day, and that the author puts a lot of effort in to, it's right that he gets some cash back. It wasn't very pricey.

ST2 used extremely non-standard ways to get the Google map tiles, and it was always breaking and having to be patched; ST3 uses the official API and is a lot more robust. If you can find a copy of the ST2 Apply Routes plugin somewhere on the net, though, you might find the maps in that still work, because the implementation is separate. (I fired my copy up for a quick play and the AR maps looked all right).

One of the advanced featuires in paid ST3 is being able to see more than 90 days of training, unfortunately, so you'd probably want to pay for it as you want to see the old training. But it's $35, less than £25, and it is totally worth it. Like flanker, quite happy to pay for it so that it will go on being supported and updated for the future.

Thanks guys. I take it if I *do* update (to paid or copy of ST3) then all my old training will still be transferred over and I'm not going to lose the lot?? And if I do pay for it, is that it? It's not like a subscription where I have to pay yearly to keep using it?

Yes your data get transferred over.
No it isn't a subscription; there will be future versions where they'll charge for the update zonefivesoftware.com

Oh, and I think I was wrong above - you can see all your training history in the free version, it's fitness info like weight and so on which are limited to 90 days.
