My 305 is now completely dead. Nothing happens when I try to charge it. I've tried the mode/reset trick with it connected. Damn. I'm really going to have to come off the fence about a new 310 vs a replacement 305.

Same problem as Drell, Dead 305, have reset it and done all the updates (the firmware was up to date but did it again just in case), still totally dead. I have a call in to Garmin as it's only 9 months old, I will keep this group updated.

My 4yr old 305 is functioning well, but the HR strap has given up the ghost. Is it worth spending £40 or so for a replacement, or should I just replace it with something newer like a 310?

Hi BrianJ. Dont have my HR strap here at work, but I think the battery is replaceable. Seem to recall thinking how good a design it was over the Polar HR straps for that very reason. Could it just be the cost of a new watch battery for it?

I changed the battery recently, and it was OK for a while, before packing in again. I'll change it one more time just in case it was a dud battery.
Welcome to fetch btw...

My 305 is quite old now. While I was on holiday I put it on for a training run a couple of times. It picked up a signal then immediatelyt just shut down on me for no reason. After a couple of goes of restartings it it stayed on and gave reading of reasonable accuracy. My OH said it was probably the heat in Mallorca but today it did the same thing in the UK. Plus the pace it was recording seemed unrealistically fast for me.

Does this mean that my Garmin is about to pack in? It is a few years old now. Or is it possible to get it repaired / reset?

Thanks,

Ness x

Hi Wazelle. I think there is a link to the communicator on right hand side of the page when you choose upload from Garmin in Fetch
