Ian are you still have strap problems? That exactly what mine did- sometimes didn't lick up then picked up a reading way too low. Tried new batteries, tried rescanning, nothing worked. I rang garmin, and basically the strap is f** I bought a new strap (the new soft one) and it's all fine now.

Thanks for the info. I think knackered soundwise. No problem, not a major issue.

Help please, having problems with Mr. Garmin at the moment (305). Last week he claimed his battery was low and promptly switched off, and I was sure I'd charged him up. Anyway, put him on charge again and now he won't turn on at all!

Is the battery knackered? If so will I have to send him back to Garmin to have a new battery put in?

thanks

Try pressing the "Mode"(reset/lap) and "Power" buttons at the same time, usually works for me

Sometims my 305 switches itself on when I charge it on the cradle - so when I lift it off again later, it's just dead because while it was charging it was using just as much battery searching for satellites (stupid bugger). Miight this have happened BJ?

I'm trying to download my training onto Fetch from my Garmin but an error message appears stating
"Garmin PlugIN Not Detected".

My Garmin Software is loaded on to my PC and I can download my training.
Any tips on how to transfer to Fetch

Not sure what you mean by "Garmin Software is loaded to my PC" Alan - do you mean Garmin connect, or Training Centre, or whatever they call that stuff?? (I don't use it, I use SportTracks instead). If so, then you still have to download the Garmin Communicator - when you're on the Add Training Automatically page and getting that error, to the right of that page are links to the Garmin Communicator download.

If you *have* already done that, then apologies. My only other suggestion is that I couldn't make it work either with Internet Explorer, but it seems to work fine with Firefox. So I always use Firefox for Fetch training stuff now.

the last time I went away with work I took my Garmin and thought it would be easy to download the two runs I did (with a day's rest between them) when I got back.

Unfortunately it dealt with the run as one continuous run with a very long interval:( - is there a way to make it realise that you have really finished for the day, want to store the run and then start another one before you download the whole lot when you get back home?

Macca - you can "reset" watch in training mode then do second run, then download both - well you can with the Edge305 and the 405
